Janki Devi Memorial College hosted its annual intercultural festival, Symphony’24, on January 31, 2024. Over 3000 students from various colleges are set to engage in 28 competitions. These span the realms of the humanities and social sciences.

This year’s theme, UDAY-AWAKEN THE LIGHT WITHIN, encouraged diverse talents and intercultural exchange. The competition covers various fields such as acting, debate, street play, dance, music, and poetry, among others. Symphony is the annual intercultural college fest of Janki Devi Memorial College. It aims to promote diverse talents and foster intercultural exchange.

Words of Wisdom

Eminent Kathak choreographer Vidushi Rani Khanam honored the event as the chief guest. Guests of honor, Shri Suman Kumar and Prof. Rupam Kapoor from Sangeet Natak Akademi and the University of Delhi’s Department of Botany, also graced the event.

Expressing her thoughts, Chief Guest Vidushi Rani Khanam emphasized the theme. She said, “This theme highlights the necessity for the youth to kindle the spirit within themselves. This, she noted, is crucial for a prosperous future. Motivation is vital to continue pursuing our ambitions. I appreciate that JDMC students give due importance to the field of arts. This is notably true for the classical arts. This showcases their sincerity to foster a culturally enhanced educational sphere.”

PWD Embarks on Project to Enhance greenery and cleanliness Around 10 DU Colleges

Principal Prof. Swati Pal said, “We take pride in extending our welcome to the esteemed guests.” The theme for this year offers a platform for the students to present their talents, skills, and personalities. Through this event, we aim for the development of a Viksit Bharat along with a Viksit Vishva.

The Guest of Honour, Prof. Rupam Kapoor, shared, “I am thrilled to be part of the cultural celebration, Symphony’24. In an era dominated by social media, where youngsters often grapple with peer pressure, I commend Janki Devi Memorial College for organizing this cultural event.
