DU admission

The University of Delhi has sought information about the vacant seats from Delhi University colleges for DU admission to its undergraduate courses. The admission branch of Delhi University said that there are a few seats left in the unreserved category but the number of seats left in a reserved category is ascertained. The DU colleges will soon review the number of seats left and after that, the University will decide whether to declare the additional cutoff list or not.

DU admission branch said that classes for the new batch have started, and we are left with less time. Therefore, 31st December will be the last day of the DU admission procedure.

Some courses have received over admission

More than 95% of the seats have been filled so far out of the total 70,000 seats for UG admission. Although there have been more than 70,000 admissions for 70,000 seats due to over admission in some UG courses. Seats are still vacant in the reserved category especially in ST, SC, Kashmiri Migrants, and EWS categories. Dr. Shobha Bagai, the Head of DU Admission Branch said that we have asked DU colleges to submit the final data. Only after reviewing the data of vacant seats, it will be decided whether to release the next cutoff or not. Furthermore, it is yet to be decided whether a special cutoff will be released or the 9th cutoff. She added that a special drive has been kept in the reserved category for which the information will be released soon. The admission branch has received the data of vacant seats in the general category for which very few seats are left.

Most of the DU colleges are left with 2-3 seats in some courses. However, the exact situation will be determined when the data of the reserved category will come. At the same time, admissions will be completed from 19 to 23 December on the basis of merit for sports category seats in DU. Students included in the Centralized Merit List have filled their preference form for college and course. Students included in the Centralized Merit List for ECA category seats have also filled the choice for courses and colleges.

The admission schedule for these seats will be released soon. These students will get admission on an academic merit basis.
