DU V-C TO BE REMOVED AFTER WHISTLING HIGH DRAMA
The term ‘administrative lapses’ include delaying appointments, and meager to no promotions in his tenure. Even after multiple orders from the ministry, he failed to handle the ad hoc teachers’ protests. Ultimately the ministry itself came to resolve the conflict. In his 5-year term, he has not done educational or any other reform. No progress was made on the issues of the university even after multiple reminders.
The Education Ministry wrote to the President to take permission for the same on Saturday. On Tuesday the ministry got information that the request has been accepted by the visitor. Till the inquiry meets a conclusion, Yogesh Tyagi the DU V-C will be suspended.
There is a history behind this sudden outrage. The ugly war started when Yogesh Tyagi appointed Prof. P.C. Jha as the Registrar. It the day when the Executive Council EC was about to discuss and conclude at a deserving option. It would be done following all the statutes and provisions. Tyagi was on medical leave at this time.

On this, the EC ignored the appointments made by DU V-C and gave Vikash Gupta the power of a Registrar.
Responding to this, Prof. Geeta Bhatt was appointed as the Pro-VC by Tyagi. It should be noted that P.C. Joshin was already handling the post of pro-V-C. Now the Delhi University has two pro-V-C’s and two registrars.
Education Ministry asked Tyagi to rejoin work if we want to exercise his powers after submitting a fitness certificate. Then other discrepancies by the DU V-C came into light which demands inquiry.
