NEW EDUCATION POLICY (NEP): ANALYSIS
The university has formed a 42 member committee for its implementation. The standing committee’s recommendation with the academic council will come out soon. Whereas, the University formed 42 member committee that has recommended continuing the 3-year degree. And, to give structure to the 4-year program and later implement it. The committee has also recommended after the given structure a 1-year master’s program must be structured. But, until then a 2-year Postgraduate program must continue.
For the HONS courses, the committee has recommended holding on to 3 years degree course and later absorb it for 4 years HONS degree course, along with a research course. The committee has also said, that the quality of education must not deteriorate.
The degree course must not be compromised by the university, they added. And so the existing structure must continue along with the addition of some new different courses. However, the process must be done easily and the student’s quality of education must be kept as the topmost priority. These are some of the key matters to be discussed under NEP.
