The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has overtaken the last year’s placement record with more than 1100 job offerings. The IIT Delhi for the academic year 2019-20 received over 1100 placements and job offerings. The final year students of IIT Delhi have received job offerings and pre-placement offers from varied national and international organizations.
Professor S. Dharmaraja, the head of the office of career services (OCS), IIT Delhi said that the record has surpassed all the earlier year’s records. The IIT Delhi academic year 2019-20 has recorded an increment of 4% in the figures of placement offers.
The professor further included that this increment has become possible due to the efforts of so many people. The dynamic strategies, teamwork, evaluation of abilities of students, and varied profiles of IT companies made it possible.
The Industrial Laison Officer of IIT Delhi, Anishya O Madan said the academic year 2019-20 has resulted in increment of placement due to efforts of the college’s placement cell including professors, coordinators, students, and other students volunteers. The achievement comprises of the efforts of all those people due to which the academic year resulted in seamless conduct.

- Approximately 85% of the total undergraduate and postgraduate students who applied for the placements got placed from the Institute’s campus placements.
- The persisting students preferred to explore other alternatives like further studies, government service examination, research, and development work, setting up startups while some warned their jobs through own endeavors and connections.
- Around 430 companies registered themselves for conducting placement drives for the academic year 2019-20 offering more than 600 job profiles.
- The second phase of placement of IIT Delhi took place in between the pandemic situation. The second phase of job placements was taken online which grabbed over 100 job offerings during the online placements.
AMAZON OFFERS INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY TO CA STUDENTS
During the last November, the Indian Institute of Delhi student bagged the highest package of over 1.45 crore. The computer science engineering student bagged the highest package in the placement conducted at the end of October. The institute conducted online placement drives during the lockdown especially for those students whose job offers got canceled amid pandemic. Recently IIT and IIM students together initiated a pilot project along with a helpline number to help unemployed workers. The project named SFIGM was launched to help the workers whose jobs and livelihood was affected due to coronavirus lockdown.
