DU JAT 2021

DU JAT 2021: Delhi University Joint Admission Test is conducted annually for admission in several undergraduate courses. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Delhi University conducts admission on merit as well as through the entrance exam. This year’s registration process lasted on 31st August. Now the entrance exam will be conducted from 27th September to 1st October 2021. However, admit card is not released yet. It will be out in the second week of September.

However, admission in the courses falling under the entrance exam is limited. Moreover, there are only a few colleges providing undergraduate courses admission through entrance exams. The courses offered are Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), and BA (Hons) Business Economics for graduation.

There is a total of 16 colleges offering admission through the DU JAT 2021 entrance exam. However, each of the colleges does not offer every course listed for admission through DU JAT 2021. There are a total of 1400 seats consisting of all the categories under the DU JAT admission.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON DU JAT 2021 ADMISSION

Q. What is the selection process after the DU JAT 2021 entrance exam?

After the entrance exam of DU JAT 2021, the result will be declared within a month at the official website of NTA. Soon, after the results colleges will release the cutoffs for the course they are offering.

Students can only go with the college preferences they mentioned while applying. Moreover, students will have to go with the documents verification and then need to submit the course fee for admission. However, during this year all the processes will be in online mode.

Q. On which basis candidates can get admission after the DU JAT result?

Ans. The eligible students can go with the further procedure of admission. However, the weightage of the best of four including Maths and English is 35%. There is a 65% weightage of DU JAT 2021 result in admission. After this rank list will be declared in the portal based on the 12th percentage and DU JAT 2021 result.

Q. What is the exam pattern of the exam?

Ans. The entrance exam of DU JAT is conducted in computer-based mode. The centers for the exam are across the country in different cities. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and consists of 100 questions. The exam will be conducted in two shifts a day.

Each of the questions holds four marks on the correct answer. Moreover, there is a negative marking of one mark. No mark will be awarded or deducted on not attempting a question.

Q. What is the question paper pattern and important topics in the syllabus of the DU JAT exam?

Ans. The question paper of the exam has four sections and each section has 25 questions. The four sections are Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability/English, Reasoning, and General Awareness.

  • Quantitative Aptitude

This section of the paper is based on the quantitative ability of the student. All the topics are from mathematics. Some of the topics are Functions, graphs, geometry, matrices, integration, differentiation, numbers, ratio, probability, and others.

 

  • Reasoning and Analytical Ability

This section of the question paper includes reasoning from topics like coding, circular and tabular arrangements, critical reasoning, analogies, and others.

  • General Awareness

Some of the topics lying in this section are current affairs, basic science, international organizations, books, and authors, sports news, and other related topics.

  • Verbal Ability/English

From the English section, we get questions from comprehensions, antonyms-synonyms, phrases, prepositions, voice forms, vocabulary, and other topics of grammar.

Q. Is there any personal interview while admission through DU JAT 2021?

Ans. No, there is not any personal interview while admission through the entrance exam at Delhi University.

Q. What are the eligibility criteria in DU JAT?

Ans. Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% in the 12th board exam from a recognized board. For reserved category students, there is 5% of relaxation. Moreover, candidates have studied English and Maths in class 12th. There is also not any age limit to apply. Students should go through the eligibility criteria before applying.

Ans. Yes, reservation policy is applicable in admission through DU JAT. However, reservation policy is followed by the colleges as per Delhi University guidelines. Moreover, some of the colleges offering DU JAT give the reservation to the minority section of the country also.

Ans. Students must do their exam preparation very well. They must complete their syllabus before the entrance exam and practice mock and previous year questions.

While marking the answer to the questions candidates should have precautions. As there is a negative marking scheme of one mark. Do not mark the answers randomly. Students have to plan out the study plan and should follow it for better results.

Ans. No, only 16 colleges are there of Delhi University which offers admission through the DU JAT entrance exam. Moreover, all of these colleges do not offer every course of DU JAT.
