Enactus World Cup 2020: Enactus Team From Hansraj College Will Represent India

Enactus is the world’s biggest experiential learning stage committed to making a superior world. The Enactus system of worldwide business, student leaders, and academics are united by one vision i.e. to create a better, more sustainable world. This year the Enactus World Cup 2020 will be conducted online from 8 to 11 September 2020.

Enactus India Online Convention and Competition 2020, Hansraj College from New Delhi bagged the first position on 8 August 2020. The Enactus team from Hansraj College came up with a highly enterprising project titled ‘Vriddhi’. Vriddhi is initiative conceptualized to curb stubble burning by utilizing it for productive purposes.

Hansraj Enactus team will now perform in Enactus World Cup which will be held in September 2020. This team will compete with 35 more teams all over the world.

Moreover, this competition is a yearly occasion that gives a chance for students to showcase the exemplary work they do in communities. The winning team in this competition goes on to represent the country at the World Cup.

Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is for the first time that the competition was organized virtually. This did not, however, prevent students from showing the same level of energy and enthusiasm that they bring to the competition when physically present.

In India, KPMG has recognized Lifelong Learning as a core area for its corporate citizenship initiatives. This directly affects the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) of quality education.

The firm has been supporting Enactus India since 2008 and a significant part of its help is through a mentorship program where more than 70 senior pioneers guide more than 75 Enactus school groups to effectively attempt their enterprising activities. In spite of the impediments brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the coaches kept on supporting the college groups through online cooperation stages.

Approximately 400 Students across the country participate in Enactus India Online Convention and Competition 2020:

Students from different colleges participated in Enactus India Online Convention and Competition 2020 to showcase their social entrepreneurship projects and to take part in a series of 33-minute Industry-Academia-Social Impact dialogues.

Different Enactus teams from all over the world submitted their projects before 200+ esteemed CEOs and senior executives from the corporate and social entrepreneurship world serving as judges.

Devdip Purkayastha, who is President & Chief Training Officer, Enactus India states that since 2003, a large number of Enactus teams have been emphatically affecting India. Tutored by a system of industry pioneers and workforce consultants, they are improving a huge number of lives and employment. What’s more, as they do as such, Enactus teams themselves are creating as socially dependable future pioneers.

Arun M. Kumar who is Chairman & CEO, KPMG in India mentioned that Enactus gives a phenomenal stage to students to affect the lives of others even while learning the ropes of the enterprise. These learnings will furnish them with socially cognizant viewpoints that are basic to administration in the present testing world.

He further added that the success of market economies and businesses relies heavily on ethical business practices. The final of 2020 was tough and he appreciates the winning team from Hansraj College.

The Enactus team from Hansraj College submitted an appreciable project. There protect was on stubble burning and how cut stalks could be used for organic cultivation of mushrooms or be upcycled into handicraft products and stubble boards. All this can be used as a construction material.

Moreover, this project will benefit the farmers in Punjab and Haryana most. Additionally, it will not only reduce pollution but also provide farmers with alternate sources of income and chances.
