DU UG Academic Calendar 2023-24: Delhi University released the academic calendar for all undergraduate semesters on Wednesday. This time the university is trying to bring uniformity after years that were disturbed by the pandemic. Therefore, all the semesters will join colleges on 16 August after the summer break.
After the coronavirus period, it had impacted all the semesters’ students. Classes for different semesters were started at different times which resulted in a distorted academic calendar. Also, semester break results in a few days’ break or no break during the whole semester.
Further, teachers also demanded a complete one-month break because continuous working is resulting in bad mental health. Therefore, the University has made some changes in the previous notifications regarding the DU UG Academic Calendar 2023.
Teachers and students appreciate these changes as this will give some relief to all stakeholders. Now, all the semesters students will join the college on 16 August 2023.

Moreover, the National Democratic Teachers’ Front (NDTF) had been continuously raising the demand to bring uniformity to the calendar. And, this request is now accepted by the university. This will be beneficial for colleges and students too and will solve many issues.
Winter Break will be of One Day
According to the notification, the colleges will give preparatory leave from 6 to 12 December. Then practical and theory exams will be conducted from 13 December. Further, the winter break will be of one day only i.e. 1 January 2024. Then the classes for the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth semesters will begin on 2 January.
Then, the mid-semester break will start on 24 March and will end on 31 March 2024. So, classes will begin on 1 April and then will be dispersed by 29 April to give preparatory time. Then exams will begin on 9 May 2023 and summer vacation from 26 May to 21 July.
