Delhi HC has desired the answers of the state government, GGSIPU, and DU on a plea challenging the eligibility for Delhi quota for NEET (UG) candidates. So that they can claim Delhi state quota seats in medical colleges affiliated with the two universities here.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav just posted a memo to the Delhi government, Directorate General Health Services, GGSIPU, and DU. They asked them to file their reactions within two weeks.

GGSIPU published a message on June 28 hailing the submission of records. It will be for eligible candidates for Delhi state quota seats. This constitutes 85% of the total seats.

The plea, filed by a NEET candidate, questioned residential evidence not being one of the mandatory eligibility for Delhi quota state allotment seats.

It said the eligibility bars became limited to only passing class XI and XII exams from a school affiliated with a well-known board. To take admission to UG courses – MBBS, BDS, etc in the institutions in Delhi.

Such silly and random cases have over the years consequences in unfair methods. It became resorted to by the schools within Delhi for illegitimately giving the ‘dummy schooling’ medium to pupils. From outside Delhi, they migrated to Delhi after their class X exams with the sole purpose of somehow availing the benefit of Delhi state quota seats which otherwise ought to be allotted among the bonafide tenants of NCT of Delhi.
