The general participation done at the district or school level will not be accepted for DU admissions on the basis of the ECA quota. However, if a student accomplishes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position at school or district level, different marks will be allotted as per the level of competition. The prominence will be given to the students who have participated in international, national, and state-level competitions.

The admission process in Delhi University through ECA quota has begun from today I.e., 1st August. Students will be required to achieve a minimum of 20 marks through their certificates to be eligible for the admission through ECA quota. Delhi University has distinguished the marks to be allotted to the students as per 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions.

If a student who has participated in any of the ECA categories including creative writing, digital media, debate, NSS, NCC, music, dance, Divinity, theater, fine arts, quiz, etc at the school level, he/she will be awarded zero marks. However, a student securing 1st position at the school level will be rewarded 12 marks while a student securing the second position will be given 8 marks, and for the third 6 marks will be rewarded. Furthermore, students securing 1st position at the district level will be rewarded 16 marks, whereas for 2nd 12 marks, and for 3rd position, 8 marks will be rewarded.

DU ADMISSIONS 2020: ECA CERTIFICATES TO BE VERIFIED BY INDIVIDUAL DU COLLEGES

Prominence will be given to Participation at International, National, & State Level

The Delhi University has given more prominence to participation at international, national, and state levels for admission through ECA quota. Students securing 1st position at the state level will be rewarded 20 marks, whereas for 2nd and 3rd positions 16 and 12 marks will be rewarded respectively. While for participation 8 marks will be rewarded to students seeking admission through ECA quota. The maximum marks have been categorized for participation at national and international levels. Students securing 1st position at national or international level will be awarded 24 marks whereas for 2nd and 3rd position 20 and 16 marks will be rewarded. While 12 marks will be rewarded to the students for participating at national or international level competitions.

For admission through ECA quota, students will be evaluated on the basis of four criteria. The first criteria will be on the basis of receiving an award at international, national, state, or district which will contain 44 marks. The second criterion comprises 28 marks for training or examination. While the third criterion which comprises 16 marks are for participation in any workshops. The University has allocated 12 marks for performance, publication, and exhibition for DU admissions 2020.

Students who wish to apply for DU admissions through ECA quota can now register themselves on the DU admissions portal. The students who have already filled the form and further wishes to apply for ECA quota can do so in their previous forms by paying a nominal fee if Rs 100.
