The DUWA Diwali carnival featured a variety of products, from traditional decorations to modern. From sustainable merchandise, demonstrating the diversity to ingenuity of the women entrepreneurs.
During her visit to the carnival, Atishi interacted with the women entrepreneurs. She looked impressed by their wide range of products. Entrepreneurs like these have not only innovated products. But they have also generated employment opportunities. This made a significant contribution to the community.
She stressed that women’s empowerment is essential to national progress. She commended the Delhi University Women’s Association for its work.
“This Diwali Carnival empowers women and subverts patriarchy. It spotlights women-led NGOs, startups, entrepreneurs, and self-help groups.” Atishi said, praising the association’s work, such as the pre-school it has established.

Atishi underlined the importance of women’s economic empowerment. She considered entrepreneurship to be the most effective ways to achieve this goal. She emphasises that the progress of a nation is tied to the progress of its women.
