Aspiring students are wondering what next to do for DU admissions 2021. This confusion arose after the registrations were over on 31st August 2020. Hence, over 2.87 lakh students registered for DU admissions 2021. Thus, they are now waiting for the first cut-off to release.
DU admissions 2021: When will the first cutoff release?
The Delhi University administration had earlier stated that the first cutoff can be released around 1st October. Hence, until then, the CBSE’s improvement and compartment exams will get over. But, a formal announcement is yet awaiting.
A guide for DU Cutoff 2021:
Each aspiring candidate has to match their Board’s score with the cut-off released by colleges. Thus, the total percentage of their best of four subjects is to be considered. Also, it is mandatory to include one language. But, for science stream students, the Board’s score is calculated by taking the best of three where language is not mandatory.
All the DU-affiliated colleges announce their own cut-offs on its website. Hence, a separate cut-off is released for each course provided by a particular college. Also, the cut-offs for each category are clearly divided, i.e. the unreserved, the OBCs, the ST, the SCs, the EWSs, and more. An elaborate cut-off will be released for the combined courses of subjects under BA, BCom, BSc programs.
A combined master list of cutoffs from all colleges will be available on the DU website for students. So, a registered aspirant is eligible for all the colleges he clears the cut-off of. Hence, it is upto them, which college they choose.
Other riders in eligibility:
Any aspiring candidate who wants to get admission in a course which they haven’t studied before will suffer from docking. Thus, DU discourages change of stream from secondary to college. A deduction of 2.5 percent from the score will be levied.
