To all the boys: Always and Forever is the third and final installment of the To All The Boys Series. It is based on Jenny Han’s Always and Forever, Lara Jean. The film portrays one of the most romantic love stories of Lana Condor and Noah Centineo as Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky. This film is the continuation of To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.

The movie begins with Lara Jean Covey spending a vacation in Korea with her family. Her family includes father Dan, her sisters Margot and Kitty, and her neighbor turned her step-mom Trina Rothschild. Lara Jean went on a vacation where she find a lock that signifies her mom and dad’s love and the lock reads, “for the rest of my life.”

DO WE HAVE A MEET-CUTE?

On her return from the Korea Vacation, she tells the whole story to the love of her life, Peter Kavinsky. She also says about the “meet-cute” of her sister. Meet-cute frames when a girl and a boy meet for the first time. She realizes that she doesn’t have a meet-cute with her boyfriend. But, the ending displays an opposing plot in which Peter tells about her “meet-cute” with Covey.

When two persons are in love with each other, it means that they respect each other, motivate to grow in life, forms a strong bond with their partner, and understand each other in all the ups and downs of life.

PETER AND COVEY AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY 

Peter and Covey are ready to enter their new phase of life, I.e. College Life where they plan to study on the same campus at Stanford University. But, destiny has some separate decisions for their lives.

Peter gets into Standford University leaving Covey behind. This awestruck Covey because her plans with peter are beyond Stanford. Meanwhile, Covey and Peter opt for their backup plan where Covey decides to study in Berkeley. They would be able to plan at least weekends with each other.

Moving on further, Covey visits New York University and loves the campus. She wants to study at New York University but confused while taking this decision. Staying in a long-distance relationship requires a lot of effort, time, and most importantly understanding. Now, Covey is scared to lose peter while she moves into New York for further studies.

Somehow, she manages to explain her wish to go to New York University to Peter. This saddens Peter because they would be far off from each other for four years. However, they would meet at a time in a year. A conversation about Covey’s decision for New York University disappoints Peter.

PETER BREAKS UP WITH COVEY ON PROM NIGHT

It is prom night tonight where Peter and Covey move in as a couple. However, Peter becomes the Prom King. For the first time, they feel the distance by being next to each other. Consequently, Peter breaks up with Covey on Prom Night to save himself what he sees as the inevitable breakdown of a long-distance relationship.

Peter goes and meets his absentee father and tries to reconnect with him even after years of absence. He realizes that breaking up with Covey was the worst decision he ever made. He skips the wedding of Covey’s father Dan and Trina. To fix the broken relationship and the wrong decision, Kitty manages to set a meeting of Lara Jean with Peter in the wedding tent.

CONTRACT OF LARA JEAN AND PETER KAVINSKY

Lara Jean Covey finds a letter in the tent in her yearbook which Peter wrote. He wrote about her meet-cute with Lara Jean when they were in the sixth standard. In the end, Peter proposes a contract with Covey to always love each other despite the distance which Covey agrees to. So, the story ends with Covey Peter patch up.

A SUITABLE BOY REVIEW: TARGETTING WESTERN AUDIENCE GONE WRONG

The storyline thereupon depicted that Covey got what he wanted from Peter. She walked into New York with an optimistic attitude that he and peter would always love each other endlessly despite the distance of 3 miles.

PLOTLINE OF TO ALL THE BOYS: ALWAYS AND FOREVER 

The movie portrays three different plots with three different kinds of love. The everlasting bond of Covey and two best friends Lucas and Chris story everybody’s heart. These three were always there for each other to guide. Chris also had an on and off affair with Trevor who was a good friend of Lara Jean and Peter.

WHO IS GEN? WHAT IS HER RELATION WITH COVEY?

At the same time, there was a girl named Gen. Gen was Peter’s Ex-girlfriend and Covey’s best friend turned rival. This friendly bond that Covey, Chris, and Lucas shared is one of the best trio that viewers miss.

Covey was very attached to her family as well. She always understood her father’s feelings for her neighbor Trina and she supported their wedding as well. She was much attached to her sisters Kitty and Margot. Although Trina was a new member of their family, but she decided to be their friend rather than a typical step-mom.

Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship are no less than a relationship goal. They were always best friends first and a couple later. They always stole the hearts of the audience in all three sequels.

In the last sequel, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky’s relationship reflected the level of trust and assurance. In this sequel, they explained the importance of mutual understanding and space in a healthy relationship. Moreover, this would help them to grow individually as well.
