THE HIGHLIGHTS IN THE RAM MANDIR CONSTRUCTION BY FAR

The foundation stone ceremony of the Ram Mandir is expected to be laid by PM Modi, probably on 3 or 5 August.

A massive nationwide fund collection drive will be launched by The Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust from November 25 to December 25. Around 10 crore families will be contacted across the country for financial support.

The entire construction of the Ram Mandir is expected to be completed in 3- 3.5 years. And the construction will start after the finalization of the temple’s design.

The estimated cost for the Ram Mandir construction is Rs 300 crore whereas Rs 1,000 crore will be required for the development of 20 acres of land around the temple premises.
The proposed height of the Ram Mandir has also been increased to 161 feet from 128 feet and it will have 5 domes.

A generous funding is expected from the corporates through their CSR funding. The trust even wants “devotees of Rama” to take part in the construction process by donating money.

This issue has now been more than a century-old dispute and the entire saga has even torn the social fabric of the nation. Hence, the supreme court, in a bid to put an end to this issue, ruled that the 2.77 acres of the land which is disputed and where the allegedly demolished Babri Masjid once stood will stay with a Central government receiver and will be handed over to a Trust within the time span of three months for the construction of the temple. This decision was a unanimous 5-0 verdict.
