Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union HRD Minister will launch ‘Manodarpan’ on Tuesday, at 11 AM. It is an initiative for Mental Health by MHRD. As per the details shared by the MHRD on his official Twitter account, Manodarpan Initiative is being launched under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ to provide psychosocial support to the students to ensure their mental well-being.
This initiative will cover key points which include providing Psychological Support to the Students, Teachers, and Families. Help them manage stress during COVID-19 times and ensure Good Mental Health and Emotional Well being. Dedicated Webpage for Mandodarpan Initiative.
As part of the Manodarpan Initiative of MHRD, the ministry will launch a dedicated column or webpage on its website that would provide the necessary information and resources to the students and teachers that can aid in providing psychosocial support to them. The initiative’s section would provide resources like advisory, practical tips, posters, videos, do’s, and don’ts for psychosocial support, FAQs, and online query system.

Launch a helpline number:
As per the Manodarpan Initiative, the ministry will also inaugurate a country-wide toll-free helpline, where students from schools, colleges, and universities and reach out to seek help for their mental health issues. The helpline will be manned by experienced counselors and psychologists and other mental health professionals, who will provide tele-counseling to the students and address their mental health and psychosocial issues.
Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union HRD Minister said they have been enlisted approximately 500 counselors to actualize the national helpline. They further added that for the first phase students 100 counselors have been planned to initiate.
