On Tuesday, President Ram Nath Kovind said that educational establishments should attempt to make students skilled citizens of the modern world.
Ram Nath Kovind made this statement while addressing the convocation of the Central University of Gujarat at Gandhinagar. The President stated that under the new National Education Policy, steps are being made to motivate modern education based on Indian values with the motive to make the country a knowledge superpower.
The President said making mindfulness among students about their obligations in the changing scene is additionally a significant target of the new education system. Our educational institutions should attempt to make understudies skilled residents of the modern world community. There is additionally a need to give extraordinary accentuation on the significance of public interest and profound quality by educational institutions.
He stated that only by giving special priority to Indian values would we be prepared to distinguish between our educational institutions and foreign educational institutions based on western ideas.
The President said while addressing the students, that constructing a powerful and self-reliant India is at the spirit of our global reflection.
Experiences, local resources, and knowledge should be used for self-reliance. Candidates can make their education helpful in the true sense by endowing local development through innovation and research with the use of local resources.
He said that we should always recognize that our education should support the development of our community and country apart from a personal advantage.
The President happily reported that about 55 % of the students getting an education are girls in the Central University of Gujarat and convocation ceremony 13 girls were awarded out of 21.
He further added that this is a great success of this university. It shows a glance of change in our society and an image of a new India.
