Under the Punjab Skill Management Project, a course to learn the Japanese language has been launched.  The government of Punjab started this education program in order to generate skills for youngsters.  The new skill will open ways for employment.

Through the initiative, candidates will learn Japanese and allow the Japanese Embassy to connect with them.

The Minister of Industrial Training and Jobs in Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, said the first round of preliminary meetings with the Japanese embassy was determined to introduce this project in conjunction with the Japanese embassy.

This program will be eligible for the 18-45  years’  age category. Also, they need to be 8th standard passed.

The course duration is 200 hours.

In addition to credentials for the JLPT, candidates would also earn a qualification of PTU (Punjab Technical University) after completing the 200-hour training cycle in French.  This will be based on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) level clearing (N5).

The training will take place in two rounds. Firstly, training was initiated by training trainers for PSDM, the Higher Educational Department, the Department of School Education, Technical Education & Industrial Training, and IKG Punjab TU. By lots of lots in Punjab, these master trainers, in turn, will educate the young people of Punjab.

The initial stage of training has already started, with the training of a Japanese Learning Teacher. The instructor has passed the N-5 and N-4  stages of Japanese Proficiency Testing. Also, he possesses an internship certificate. There are 37 students each in the two running batches.
