The ban of Chinese app TikTok which bestowed a platform to a large number of people in India to showcase their talent was heartbreaking for many. On Wednesday Facebook-owned Instagram taking the advantage announced the Reels feature which enables users to share short clips. The new Reels feature enables users to record, edit, and share short videos.

The Reels enables Instagram users to share their short videos with their followers on feed. The users having a public account through an exotic space in the explore section can share their clips with a wider Instagram community.

Ajit Mohan, the managing director and vice president of Facebook India told that as the video consumption is rising in India, Instagram holds a wider role in unleashing the talents in India.

Ajit Mohan further added that with the new Reels feature we are boosting the future of entertainment on the platform. Instagram now facilitates users to be creative and bring forward their talent in front of the people.

Instagram is certainly a big platform that provides so many surfaces to a billion people globally. Features like insta feed, IGTV, stories, insta live, and now the Reels is enabling creativity to grow.

The Reels feature allows users to express themselves while entertaining a large community of people. Be it dance, cooking, singing, or spreading a message of a social cause, Instagram has got it all covered.

Users can now record videos and edit 15 seconds multi clips with different audios, videos, and various other extraordinary features.

The vice president of Facebook, Vishal Shah told that Instagram has always been a platform where culture and communities are created. People on Instagram share their views, opinions and also take stands on the causes from around the world. Users here do things that they care about and be entertained while staying connected.

He included that they have been listening to the Instagram community that they needed Instagram to build a feature for sharing short videos. So far Instagram has created a large community and has connected people from around the world.

The Reels feature on Instagram was launched on Wednesday at 7:30 pm and at the onset. The feature git popularity from the various public figures including Gippy Grewal, Ammy Virk, Jahnavi Dasetty, Radhika Bangia, Kusha Kapila, Arjun Kanungo, and many more.

India is the fourth country in the world where the Reels feature is being tested by Instagram. Before India, the feature was first launched in Brazil, Germany, and France.
