Indian Institute of Technology, IIT is going to offer placements within a month. So, all the students are eager to see the rise in the pre-placement offers. The placement drives of students will take place in different phases.

The first phase will begin on 1st December and will continue till 7 or 15 days. The lasting of the session depends upon the number of students registering for placements and the number of companies that will offer placements to the students.

PPO AT IIT BOMBAY

The total pre-placement offers, PPO of students were 113. This year, 186 students of IIT Bombay got PPOs. A student representative of the placement cell of IITB said that almost all the pre-placement offers are a direct outcome of summer internships.

WORK ETHICS MATTER MORE THAN GRADES

During summer internships, companies analyze the abilities of the students. For many companies, a student’s work ethics matter more than his or her grades. Moreover, companies also observe the performance of the students in their internships. Sometimes, students get pre-placement offers before the placement season kicks off.

VIRTUAL TRAINING OF STUDENTS AT IIT

Last year, there were 170 pre-placement offers at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. This year, it is 172 till now. The students need to get pre-placement training. Despite COVID-19, the institution managed to provide virtual training to the students. Students who participated in placements attended soft-skill sessions organized by the students team.

PPO AT IIT ROORKEE AND IIT HYDERABAD

There is an increase in pre-placement offers at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. The professor-in-charge of placements at IIT Roorkee said that students got 149 pre-placement offers. Last year, students in November got 140 PPOs.
At Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, there were 37 PPOs last year. This year, it is 46. 23 students got PPO at IIT Patna last year. This year, it is only 15.

VIRTUAL DRIVES WILL TAKE PLACE

The first phase of placements would begin on December 1. So, students are expecting more PPOs to confirm. A spokesperson of IITD said that there were more than 135 PPOs on November 2. The number is great despite the COVID-19 crises. Last year, there were more than 164 PPOs that Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi received. Due to COVID 19, placement drives and group discussions would take place virtually.
