For research programs in the education and agricultural sector, the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee collaborated with Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology(OUAT). This collaboration between the two institutions will help to generate frontline technologies.
It will also produce quality manpower in the field of agriculture and education. It is done to improve the life quality and to address the challenges faced by rural communities.

IIT ROORKEE AND OUAT SIGNED THE MoU OF FIVE YEARS
The Director of IIT Roorkee and Vice-Chancellor of OUAT signed the MoU. Both institutions will collaborate in the research program. The administration signed the MoU for five years.
Director Ajit K Chaturvedi at an event called the agricultural sector as the foundation of the Indian economy and the largest employer of India. In the agricultural sector, low farm income, productivity, and climatic changes are some of the potent challenges. He said that the institution is glad to partner with Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. It is one of the oldest agricultural research institutions in the country.
This collaboration will improve the efforts of the government towards capacity building. It will be a step forward to achieve the goal of ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat.’
IIT COLLABORATES WITH UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA FOR A JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM
BOTH THE INSTITUTIONS WILL WORK ON VARIOUS ASPECTS
IIT Roorkee and OUAT will work together in the agricultural sector. They will work in the field of genomics, transgenics and metabolomics, crop improvement, application of sensors in agriculture, information, and communication. They will also work on IT-based societal development and related aspects of agriculture. It will lead to the creation of rural livelihood opportunities.
SCIENTISTS OF IIT ROORKEE AND OUAT WILL INVOLVE IN THE COLLABORATION
The Vice-Chancellor of OUAT, P.K. Agarwal expressed his happiness to collaborate with IIT. He said that it will create a new path for interdisciplinary research. Scientists of both institutions will also involve in the collaboration.
The Vice-Chancellor said that it is in line with the vision to provide socially sensitive, environmentally responsible, and economically beneficial education, research, extension, and outreach services in allied sciences and agriculture. Apart from this, there will be a joint research project that will have a common interest in both the institutions.
IIT ROORKEE COLLABORATED WITH COURSERA IN AUGUST
In the month of August, IIT Roorkee collaborated with Coursera to launch two new certificate programs in AI & Machine Learning and Data Analytics. Both the courses are of 6 months duration.
