DU Law admissions: On Monday, September 18, in the interim order the Delhi High Court allowed Delhi University (DU) to approve students to five-year integrated law programs for the academic year 2023–2024 only based on the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG).
The interim order from the Division Bench headed by the Chief Justice of Delhi was given on Monday during the hearing of the petition. It was for order to uphold the notification from the Faculty of Law, DU, dated August 4, 2023, to acceptance to five-year integrated law courses for the academic year 2023–2024. Moreover, it is merely based on the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG 2023).
The issue had been rescheduled for November 23, 2023, by the bench of Justices Satish Chander Sharma and Sanjeev Narula. He observed and said that all other universities have already begun this academic year’s classes and this subject required special attention.

The decision was created on September 18 Monday as a petition challenging Delhi University’s (DU) notification for admission to law programs only based on the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG 2023) was being discussed.
The complaint also requested instructions on how to execute the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 schedule. It has been implemented to allow admission to all UG programs in Central Universities for the academic year 2023–2024.

Further, Prince Singh, a law student at the University of Delhi, filed the complaint. He claimed that, like many other students, especially those who desire to pursue a law degree.
Also, he was wronged by the faculty’s impulsive and arbitrary decision to admit students to five-year integrated law programs only based on their scores on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG 2023 results.
Furthermore, it was said that on August 4, 2023, the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, issued an announcement stating the widely expected decision to give DU law admissions in Five-year Integrated Law Courses, which was the dream of many students throughout the country.
