CUCET AS A PART OF THE DU ADMISSION PROCESS

A DU aspirant while sending a mail to the Delhi University administration wrote that the varsity did not announce the syllabus, pattern, date, and duration of the exam. It would be difficult for the students to compete for this PAN India exam. They haven’t prepared for the entrance exam yet. Students need much time to go through the syllabus and appear for the exam. Although rumors are spread for CUCET, the varsity has not yet declared anything officially.

STUDENTS DON’T HAVE ENOUGH SOURCES TO STUDY FOR CUCET

The email further reads that it is difficult for the students to find accurate resources and prepare for the exam. Those students who pursue paid online courses would have study material for the same. If Delhi University would have declared that CUCET will be a part of the DU admission process, students might have started their preparations. But at this point, students don’t even know what is CUCET. It would be a near to impossible thing for them to know about the exam and start preparing for it. On the other hand, they don’t even have the resources to prepare. Moreover, students are not confident enough to appear for the entrance test.

WHEN EDUCATION MINISTRY WILL HOLD NEET AND JEE MAINS

PARTS OF CUCET

CUCET would include two sections. The first half would include questions from Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Reasoning. The next half would include questions from the core subjects they want to pursue during graduation. For instance, B.Com Honors students have to attempt questions related to 11th and 12th commerce.

NO RESTRICTION ON CHOOSING A COURSE DURING DU ADMISSION PROCESS

Delhi University never restricts students to choose a course that does not match their stream. If CUCET would be applied, students who want to enter into another stream would face issues. They won’t be able to attempt questions that they don’t know about. BA is open for all the students irrespective of the stream they chose in 11th and 12th.

So, these were some of the major problems faced by students. Delhi University will go through these drawbacks of CUCET and take a decision accordingly.
