ADMISSION 2020: Deduction in-stream change?
Many students had dilemmas and doubts about deduction in the best four calculations in case they make a stream shift/ change of stream.
Addressing this, dean admissions Shibha Bagai shared that the admission committee has urged the colleges to refrain from making any deductions in the percentage on the grounds of change of stream. Earlier this deduction used to be done on the belief that science students score better than humanities and hence they might take up a huge number no. of seats leading to a major disadvantage for humanities students. But, as now all studies are becoming interdisciplinary, this belief holds no grounds.
Dean admissions further clarified that the matter of deduction is up to the choice of colleges and their will although most of the colleges have agreed to the concept of no deduction.
