DU is also planning to add drama and theater to it by doing a makeover of the music and fine arts department. Along with this, the university is also trying to add painting, sculpture to it.

Preparations are being made to conduct Drama and Theater studies on the lines of the National School of Drama in Delhi University. This department of DU is very old and the university is trying to make changes in it according to the need of the market. This will also increase the scope of the department.

Prof PC Joshi, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University said that there is a plan for the makeover of two departments the Persian Department and Music and Fine Arts Department. Under this scheme, preparations have been started to increase the scope of the Persian department. Through this, the students will focus on teaching the culture, language of countries like Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will assist in this.

At the same time, we plan to do a makeover of music and fine arts in the future as well. We want to expand the scope of this department. Moreover, There are plans to add drama, theatre, sculpture, painting as well. NSD(National School of Drama) is a reputed institute. There is no such education, but there is an effort to make the students proficient in drama and theatre.

Prof Joshi said that this department of DU is very old and there was some shortage in it. There is a necessity to improve its scope. Currently, under this department, BA Honors Music, MA Music, MPhil Music, the Ph.D. program is taught under degree program. Whereas Sangeet Shiromani Diploma Course, Two Year Diploma (Harmonium), and Short Term Certificate Courses are taught under the Diploma Program.
