DIKSHA initiative, launched by the central government and NCERT is running successfully. DIKSHA helps to deliver online courses to teachers based on numerous skills.

Till now, 6 states, NCERT, and CBSE have already commenced their programs. And have uploaded about 200 courses. In addition, they have collectively trained 12 lakh teachers. This has led to 8 crore learning sessions for these educators.

Initially, CBSE has put up 20 different courses on skills like Experiential learning, pedagogical competencies, ICT, etc. Also, have provided teachers’ training to almost one lakh student already. NCERT has also started using DIKSHA. It has uploaded 2 courses and NISHTHA training modules are being developed and open for use with the aim of training 40 Lakh teachers in the country.

States like Uttar Pradesh has undertaken 88 courses, Gujarat has initiated 30 courses, Madhya Pradesh has uploaded 11 courses and both Haryana and Rajasthan have launched 5 courses each which are pertinent to the wants of their teachers leading to elevated enrolment and completion rate.

ONLINE EDUCATION ACCELERATE DIGITAL LITERACY

Yesterday, Union Education Minister, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ shared this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. He also revealed that the DIKSHA initiative is doing well and this will cover more teachers for online training in the upcoming days.
