On Wednesday, NSUI (National Students’ Union of India) protested in front of the HRD Ministry. The NSUI demanded the cancellation of the exams of the final year.

The National President of NSUI Neeraj Kundan said that a uniform policy for cancellation of exams and promotion of all students as needed.

The protest was led by Neeraj Kundan. The NSUI activists gathered in front of the national office of NSUI and took out a march towards the MHRD, Shastri Bhawan New Delhi.

The heavy contingent of police hampered the protest. Though, the protest was organized in adherence to the Government’s guidelines. The protesters also maintained social distancing.

Delhi University was supposed to conduct online open-book examinations for the students of the final semester in July. But the University postponed the exam for 10 days. The University said that a fresh date sheet will be uploaded on July 3.

Amidst this, the HRD minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, asked UGC to revisit its guidelines on the conduction of exams of final year/semester students. The UGC has not taken a decision yet. With the arrival of this news, the NSUI had declared victory and many other student bodies who were protesting the online exams were satisfied.

But the very next day, the HRD Minister announced that the exams of the final year/semester will be conducted. This has confused the students and made them anxious. Therefore, the NSUI has again protested so that exams can be canceled.
