Delhi HC denied to lift stay its order on the decision of the Delhi Government. AAP Government decided to pay the outstanding salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff from the Students Society Fund. Delhi HC said that it will decide the application seeking vacation of stay when it will hear from all the parties and replies of the 12 colleges.

Delhi Government applied to vacate the stay order. Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice to the 12 colleges that are fully funded by Delhi Government and Delhi University Students Union, DUSU. DUSU filed a petition and challenged the order of Delhi HC on October 16. The order was to pay the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff from the Students Society Fund. Now, colleges have three weeks to file their replies against them. On the order hand, Delhi HC decided their next hearing regarding this matter to be on December 15.

DELHI HC SHOULD VACATE THE ORDER

The counsel that represented Delhi Government urged High Court to vacate the October 23 Order. He said that many colleges already have a huge amount of money. Still, Delhi Government is forced to release the funds for the payment of salaries. Delhi HC said that the order or October 23 will continue till further orders.

THE PETITIONER REACHED DELHI HC TO REPRESS AGAINST ILLEGAL USE OF SSF

Delhi Government issued a notice to the directorate of Higher Education, Delhi Government, and Delhi University and received their replies on DUSU’s petition. DUSU said that such illegal use of the money collected over student’s welfare forced the petitioner to come to the court and repressing such arbitrary order that is violative of the rights of the students as a whole.

DU COUNSEL WILL NOT USE SSF FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES

DU counsel said that they will not use students funds for paying the pending salaries of teachers as this will result in cheating the students. It will support the petition of the student.

The Directorate of Higher Education ordered the 12 colleges that are fully funded by the Delhi Government to pay the salary of the staffers. They have to utilize the Students Society Fund that they have maintained for the students.

The Government issues an order that said that due to ongoing audits, Delhi University was not able to pay the fees of the staffers of those 12 colleges. So, Delhi CM ordered the payment of salaries to the teaching and non-teaching staff from the Students Society Fund.

DELHI HC DIRECTS DU TO CHANGE STUDENTS NAME, CBSE RECORDS NOT EDITED

If salary remains pending after exhausting the Students Society Fund, the Directorate of Higher Education will pay the remaining amount. Moreover, the respective colleges have to formally request the Directorate of Higher Education.
