Delhi HC said that parents do not have to pay annual and development charges. Rekha Palli and Amit Bansal is the vacation bench of Justice. They wished to seek responses from the Action Committee Unaided Private Schools.
The coronavirus pandemic let all the schools and educational institutions to shut down. It’s been more than a year that these institutions haven’t opened. So, parents are paying full fees of the students which includes many other maintenance charges as well.

The committee represents around 450 private schools. Delhi Government, schools, and NGOs are appealing Delhi High Court to file the decision regarding the development charges of the school. Delhi Government said the decision made by a single judge is based on false facts. It is against the legal rights and authorities.

The Directorate of Education of the Delhi Government issued the verdict. It also put down the last year’s orders of April and August. So, the order issued by Delhi Government was to postpone collecting annual charges and collecting fees from the students. These powers were called as illegal and ultra vires as per the Delhi School Education Act and Rules.
