The Central Board of secondary education (CBSE) has invited applications for excellence in teaching and school leadership awards 2020-21. These applications have been invited from school teachers and principals for the Honours of Excellence in Teaching and School Leadership 2020-21.
Only online applications will be accepted by the board. And the participants can submit their applications on the official website at http://www.cbse.nic.in/ or http://cbseacademic.nic.in/. 28 June 2021 is the last date to submit the applications.
Outstanding teachers and principals of CBSE affiliated schools are awarded annually on the occasion of Teacher’s Day on 5 September 2021. It is done to recognize the exemplary contribution of teachers in enhancing the quality of learning and teaching. The award consists of Rs 50,000 cash prize and a merit certificate.
All teachers who have completed at least 10 years of regular service as a teacher in either CBSE or any other recognized board of school education and are presently working with the private schools affiliated to CBSE can apply. For Principals, the private schools affiliated to CBSE and those who have completed 5 years as a principal in a CBSE affiliated school by March 31, 2021, will be eligible to apply.
Those 5 years as a principal in a CBSE affiliated school by March 31, 2021, both teachers and principals or even after may also apply if they fulfill all other conditions.

The board will use the following criteria for deciding the merit:
a) Experience in related field
b) Age
c) Higher qualification
d) Percentage in educational qualification.
