A girl residing in Poochukottamparai tribal in Tamil Nadu, Tirupur, went to attempt her class 10 exams by a bus sent by Kerala Government.
Sreedevi is the only person in her tribe to go to a boarding school in Kerala, Chalakudy town. She is the only student in her tribal hamlet to score 95 percent in class 10th board exams. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdown, Sreedevi had to return to her tribe Poochukottamparai. Being in that place, she faced a lot of problems like network connectivity issues and lack of electricity.

SHE APPEARED FOR EXAMS OF 3 SUBJECTS IN LOCKDOWN
Due to the nationwide lockdown, even transportation services were at a halt. It was difficult for her to commute to Kerala for her class 10th exams. So, Kerala Government decided to arrange a bus for her to appear for her class 10th exams. She traveled to more than 6hours a day and scored A+ in her exams.
SREEDEVI WANTS TO BECOME A DOCTER
During the lockdown, she went to appear for her exams for three subjects. She said that she was not aware of the exam schedule, but her teachers informed her and she went to write her exam. She further said that her teachers helped her a lot and that is why she was able to score good marks. Sreedevi loves Science and wants to become a doctor. Tirupur Forest Department also felicitated her.
HER FATHER IS SUPPORTING HER TO COMPLETE HER EDUCATION
Sreedevi’s father Chellamuthu said that Sreedevi traveled 320 km to appear for exams. He is proud of her that she scored well. Sreedevi was enrolled in a school at Valparai at first but her parents didn’t like it due to some issues. Then, her parents enrolled her in Kerala as people of their community were also studying. So, she was enrolled in that school. It was 320 km far from her home. Her father could not send his elder daughter to school as the community didn’t accept it although he wanted his elder daughter also to be educated. But now, he is trying his best to help his younger daughter complete her education.
