SFI PROTESTED AT DELHI UNIVERSITY VC OFFICE, DEMANDS REOPENING OF CAMPUS

Student’s Federation of India (SFI) protested recently at Delhi University Vice-Chancellor(VC) office. The Left Wing Student Union SFI protested with having some demands. The SFI demanded the reopening of the campus together with a fee waiver for needy students, rollback of NEP 2020 implementation.

However, the police denied the permission of protests to students. They were resisted protesting as barricading was there by the Police. Then also students raised their voices and demanded some action from the University on genuine issues.

DEMANDS FOR WHICH SFI PROTESTED

During the protest, more than 100 students were there from different colleges. Moreover, members of SFI met Delhi University VC Yogesh Singh and submitted a memorandum. Students while SFI protest demanded the reopening of campuses and colleges. Students said that campuses are closed for more than 1.5 years. Whereas other activities are now operational, so University should also reopen in the capital.

Afterward, students also raised issues of tuition fees. They said that there must be the provision of fees payment in installments and should extend the last date of fees payments. Moreover, there should be complete fees waive for the needy students.

SFI students also demanded rollback of the implementation of NEP 2020. As University has approved the NEP implementation proposal for the next academic year. One of the students alleged that the DU administration does not want the student’s intervention while implementing NEP.
