Reliance Jio plan of 2 GB data that was available for Rs. 98, is now dismissed. They introduced a new plan for Rs. 129 for the same quantity.

The lowest data plan for 2 GB of monthly data, comes at Rs. 129.

The company has discontinued the prior plan of Rs. 98 for customers. The company website has put off the affordable data and voice combination plan, in addition to the plan’s elimination from My Jio app. The older plan was one of the cheapest tiers available for consumers who do not opt for big data usage. The plan incorporated 2 GB data, unlimited jio to jio calls, and 300 text messages on a monthly basis.

The plan of Rs. 98 per month no longer exists in My Jio app or jio official website. The pre-paid plan is also withdrawn from the third party recharge platforms such as Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, and other related platforms. The plan was one of the highest purchases, offered by Jio company, as it enveloped 2GB data for 28 days the validity, enough for light internet users. Folks at OnlyTech were the first ones to spot the removal of the plan from the company’s official properties.

People and media reached out to Reliance to know the reason behind the dismissal of the old plan.

After the dismissal of the 2GB plan for Rs. 98, now, the lowest plan with internet and voice call benefits at monthly validity are raised at Rs. 129.

This pre-paid plan comes with 2GB internet, unlimited calls from jio to jio network, 1000 minutes for another network,  and 3000 text messages for a period of 28 days. It is relatively similar to the Rs 98 prepaid plan with just the addition of non-FUP minutes. Greatly like the Rs 98 plan, the data rate is diminished to 64Kbps after the full cap is drained out.

Reliance Jio has been planning to rearrange the pre-paid plan layouts. The company recently launched a new data plan for Rs. 999 allows users to use 3GB data with 4G connectivity and this plan expires after 84 days. In addition to this, the plan also allows unlimited jio to jio voice calls and 3000 non- FUP minutes and 100 text messages per day till the plan exhausts. Jio inaugurated, recently, a fresh “Work from Home” that comes with a considerable amount of data credit options. This entire benefit is served in addition to calls and SMS.

Contemplating Jio’s plan, many rival companies have also altered the plan and started to offer the latest benefits in order to encounter the demands of the customer in India, where people are asked to work remotely, amidst the lockdown.

A recently launched plan by every day costs Rs 199 that comes with 1GB data per day, unlimited calls to all networks, and 100 SMSes every day. It also offers an unrestricted subscription to Zee5, Wynk Music, and Airtel XStream and has a duration of 24 days.
