Over 4,100 aspirants applied for admission to University of Delhi’s undergraduate programmes under the fourth cutoff list on the first day, said DU official. In total over 4,102 students applied for admission to various colleges of Delhi University against the fourth cutoff list, out of which around 1,682 applications were approved on Monday. The University of Delhi on 31st October released the fourth cutoff list for DU admission 2020, with over 64% of the total seats filled already.
Over 55,000 seats in undergraduate courses were already filled earlier, however, after the withdrawal and cancellations, the present figure is 45,542. There are in total 70,000 seats in Delhi University for UG courses, said an official. As per the recently released fourth cutoff list which was released on Saturday, several courses were closed for admission on Saturday, while there was a decline in cutoff percentage in a few courses by one or two percent.
Admission against Delhi University’s first cutoff list was commenced on 12th October 2020. The Delhi University had released the seconds cutoff list for DU admission 2020 on 17th October while the third list was released on 26th October. This year, the admission procedure is completely online following a contactless procedure for admission amid coronavirus pandemic situation. The admission process is being conducted by following all the social distancing norms.
According to the data released by Delhi University officials, over 4872 candidates applied for admission against DU’s third cutoff list. Out of the total applications received under the third cutoff list, over 2410 applications were approved by the Delhi University colleges. As per the Delhi University academic calendar, classes for first-year UG students after DU admission age going to begin from 12th October.
