The general category students might not get admissions. Delhi University closed admissions to several UG courses under the second cut-off on Wednesday. And, the seats under the non-reserved category is almost full.
Around 90 percent of the colleges informed that most desired courses like BCom (Honors), BA Economics, BA Political Sciences, BA English, BA History, BSc Physics, BSc Chemistry, BSc Mathematics are about to close soon, especially for general category students.
Most seats are full in the UR category. There will be a third cut-off in some courses with a drop of 0.25 to one percent. Some courses may see a drop up to two percent also, said an official.
According to the Delhi University, a total number of 62,172 pupils applied under the second cut off, out of which 7,546 admissions have been ratified and 15,698 have paid the fees. There are about 70,000 seats for UG courses in 71 colleges of DU.
Due to the online admissions, DU did not see many withdrawals this year.
The entry has been closed for applying for admissions under the second cut off but the students are still paying fees and the last date of payment of fees is Friday. The ultimate data will be analyzed after that, SRCC Principal Simrit Kaur said.
The principal of Hindu College said that most of the seats are filled for the courses except Economics Hon.

Except for geography, sociology, and political science, most courses will stay open for the third list with marginal reduction. The sight will be apparent once all payments are made, said Bijayalaxmi Nanda, Principal, Miranda House.
