In order to make Delhi cleaner and healthy,  municipal bodies in the city are launching various new methods. Under this, several new strategies of solid waste management will be installed.

While the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) has commenced a Green Waste composting machine at Keshavpuram, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has placed ‘twin bins’ (blue for dry and green for wet waste) for segregation of waste at the collection point.

On Saturday, North Delhi Mayor Jai Prakash with the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Delhi Adesh Kumar Gupta inaugurated Green Waste Composting machine.

The machine will be helpful for the citizens and will help to constrain the disposal of green waste at the landfill sites, which leads to leaves burning and causes air pollution. This will also produce better quality compost at a cheaper cost that will be used in parks and in various areas, said Gupta.

Also,  he assured us to install more such machines in the future. Meanwhile, the council put twin bins in many areas.  These are kept at markets, parks, and places under the council’s jurisdiction.
