Motilal Nehru College

Teachers of Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University (DU) protested on the campus on Thursday. The teachers are protesting as no relaxation in the ongoing permanent faculty recruitment was given to ad-hoc teachers. According to the report, the college principal or the DU administration didn’t take any immediate action over the issue.

What are the teachers of Motilal Nehru College protesting?

From October 21 to 26, interviews for permanent jobs in the college’s Hindi department are organized to be conducted. With over nine years of experience, 5 ad-hoc professors are already orienting in the Hindi department of the college.

In any case, the move of the college organization to enlist long-lasting personnel for seven posts in the Hindi division has prompted fears among specially appointed educators that they will be taken out.

The Staff Relationship of Motilal Nehru College recently organized a dharna against the dislodging of impromptu educators. The college reported a new round of enlistment for teachers in the Computer Science and Environmental Science departments.

On October 17, the varsity gave a warning communicating grave worry over the enrollment of teaching faculty on an impromptu premise by certain colleges. The warning coordinated schools not to promote impromptu openings and said that such enlistments ignore the University Grants Commission (UGC) Guidelines, 2018.

Mass Media and Film Studies diploma course offered by Mass Media Center of Ramanujan College under U.G.C. and recognized by Delhi University. Candidates wishing to take admission can obtain the application form from the college.

The last date for form submission is 03 November 2023. Course coordinator Dr. Alok Ranjan Pandey said that for this course of one-year duration, students will be taught and trained by specialized and trained people from the media and film field.
