COVID-19 is worsening the schedules and regular procedures of the educational sector.
All the educational institutions are shut down since the month of March. All the economic activities are put on hold due to the current pandemic. Some universities grant admission on the basis of entrance exams. Due to COVID-19, universities are postponing the date of entrance exams. Universities have started the procedure of virtual admission.
JINDAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS APPEARED FOR JSAT IN MAY
Starting from IITs to Haryana based OP Jindal University and Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad, many more other universities have started taking e-admission. OP Jindal University conducts its own Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students seeking admission in five-year law and architecture program offered at the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) and Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) do not have to appear for this Aptitude entrance test. This year, students of India and other countries seeking admission in OP Jindal appeared for the JSAT at their respective homes in May.
STUDENTS WILL BE MONITORED THROUGH WEBCAM
The founding vice-chancellor of OP Jindal Global University said that this technical-based advanced solution gave students a new process of e-admission in the course of their choice. In AI-enabled testing solution, students have to complete a virtual self-testing. It includes identification, authentication, and validation of the candidate. Then only, the candidate will be approved to appear for the test. With the AI solution, candidates will be regularly monitored through the device’s webcam.
STUDENTS WHO HAVE APPEARED FOR SAT AND ACT ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE FOR THE TEST
Students have to schedule their tests ahead of time. They will be allowed to appear for the test 24×7 so that they can take the exam as per their convenience. Rakesh Sreedharan, the head marketing and test said that students who secured a valid percentile in JEE Main 2020 will be eligible to apply online through the admission portal. Counseling will be done online through skype mode. Students who got a valid score in SAT subjects score or ACT are also eligible to appear for exams.
WEBINAR WOULD BE CONDUCTED TO SOLVE THE QUERIES OF STUDENTS AND PARENTS
As the university is following the procedure of virtual admission this year, students and parents might have some queries related to admission. That is why Sreedharan said that the university will also conduct a webinar to address the queries raised by students and parents. Queries will be solved through telephonic conversation.
