JMI Psychology Researchers To Hold Counselling Sessions Over Phone Amid Coronavirus Scare

The Jamia Millia Islamia ( JMI ) University has decided to make their contribution count in this pestilence by extending a helping hand to the teachers, students and the staff members who are distressed amid the coronavirus outbreak. The university’s counselling and guidance centre have decided to make available 9 volunteers from 10 am to 8 pm initially and the number of volunteers will increase as per the acknowledgement.
A list of volunteers who will be available for counselling has been released, and they will contact the needy one via phone. This is an appreciating act done by the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University in such a difficult situation.

The counselling session is divided into three openings and it will be available from 10 am to 8 pm, as many as three volunteers will be available in each slot.
This horrible epidemic (COVID-19) is new to the current generation. It is very necessary to tackle this issue, as this distressed has been spreading among the people like a fire.
The university has started collecting quantitative and qualitative data through google forms and personal interviews for research purpose.
The volunteers who are paying their duty in the counselling session have either completed MPhil in psychology or are currently pursuing researcher at the JMI University.
It is well said that all are not same, everyone reacts differently in the difficult circumstances and it is common. Moreover, the counselling sessions will help the volunteers for a better future ahead. It is a great opportunity for the volunteers as they can deal with different personalities which are handling the different situations, it will be a great experience for them.
Though initially there are only 9 volunteers who are currently working from home for a counselling session, the university might increase the number of volunteers as per the demand of that particular time.
Contribution to help the government
It is that time where we all have to unite ourselves in all terms and conditions and face this virus with full courage and strength.
Due to this disastrous breakout, our government need our help not just mentally but financially too, so a small but productive step is taken by the members of Jamina Teachers Association (JTA) by donating there one day salary to the PM relief fund to fight the coronavirus epidemic.
It is our duty to stand with our countrymen and the nation this challenging time, not only JTA but the faculty of several other institutions including the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Central Board of secondary education (CBSE) and Delhi University among others, have also decided to donate there one day salary to the PM relief fund so that we can face this pestilence as soon as possible.
