This year, board exams are scheduled to end by April 29 and soon we will witness the rush for admission process in colleges. A lot of students may have decided about course, college and university. But if you are thinking about taking admission in Delhi University, there is news for you.

Students who are giving their 12th exams, soon it will be time for them to focus on admission process. Usually, Delhi University start the registration process by May end to mid-June. The admission process continues to August which includes declaration of cut off lists by colleges and document verification by colleges.

This year, the process of online registration will begin early i.e.  Mid April so that student can get enough time to get ready with necessary certificate and do not face last minute rush. According to Professor MK Pandit, the chairman of the admission committee, 95% of admission process will be completed by the time the qualifying exam results are out. The students will get 1-2 month time to gather requisite certificate.  Students can start filling in their details and when the board results are announced they can submit the form with the marks.

This year a lot of confusion was there regarding mode of admission to undergraduate courses. It was rumored that Delhi University will scrap cut-off list system and move to an entrance test for admissions in undergraduate courses from the academic session 2017-18 but now Delhi University committee has cleared that mode of admission will be based on merit i.e. cut off list and there will be no change in the undergraduate courses for which entrance exam held last year.  Post-Graduate, MPhil and PhD courses will also hold an entrance exam as usual. DU’s Executive Council and academic council has clarified that any proposal for entrance exam for all courses had not even been presented to them, as rumors suggested earlier.
