IIT Kharagpur faculty members are allowed to write about any scientific work or about literary. They are not allowed to write anything that results in criticism of the central government.
The faculty of IIT Kharagpur is offering their views and publishing information on various topics related to scientific works in general but they are not liberated to write on subjects critical on central and state government. The faculty can write on literary or scientific topics or about any premier institution but not about central or state government. Register BN Singh said that this is not a new notice.

NEW EMPLOYEES ARE NOT AWARE OF RULES AND REGULATIONS
They have been taking excerpts from the government circular for new recruiters who are not aware of the rules and regulations of the employees of the central government. In a notification of IIT Kharagpur, it was clearly mentioned that faculty members always give some news or publish any information in the print or social media. It is good to maintain relations with the print. There were just a few cases that have shown adverse criticism on the policy of the Institute and central government or any other organization or member of the institute.
THE STATEMENT PASSED SHALL NOT AFFECT CURRENT POLICY
One of the rules framed many years back is no employee in any published document or in any conversation with the press shall make any statement in his or her name which has an effect on the criticism of the current policy. All the employees of IIT Kharagpur follows the rules and regulations laid down in the acts of the institute.
The notification said that no government shall, except with the previous sanction of the competent authority or any other authority empowered by it in this behalf, or in the discharge of his duties, participate in a radio broadcast or contribute an article or any letter in his own name or anonymously.”

The employee is allowed to write about literary or scientific work. No restrictions would be there. Members are at liberty to publish any scientific work in the journals of repute in India and abroad. Such articles are not confined to any political background. They are pure scientific works.
No recent development in the institute has been made. It is only issued for new recruiters who do not know about the rules of government services. It is important for those employees to know about their responsibilities and also about government criticism. The official said that if new employees refer to their association with their organization in the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account, their comment and posts may be considered to be a part of their official identity by the followers on the internet including media.
He further added to his statement that there is no monitoring but the authorities expect them to use their own discretion while posting on social media. All the rules and regulations are already known to already existing employees and will soon be notified to new employees.
