ICAI CA Exams 2021: Around 6,000 CA students have written to the Chief Justice of India urging them to urgently list the PILs filed by the students. The CA students asked CJI NV Ramana to take cognizance of this letter and hear it along with a pre-filed PIL seeking an opt-out option for the students and directing the ICAI to increase the number of attempts by the students of the old syllabus.
The students put their demands in front of CJI NV Ramana through a letter. The students outlined the opt-out facility which was later provided by ICAI while issuing detailed guidelines. Moreover, a large section of students is urging ICAI to postpone the scheduled CA exams for July 2021.
The letter to the CJI urged that the opt-out option for the upcoming CA examinations, wherein a student has appeared for the upcoming examinations either due to the COVID-19 virus or due to any other medical emergency or pandemic in the family, has been requested. It is not able to appear for any other reason, then he/she can opt-out for the exam cycle and appear for the next exam cycle, i.e. November 2021. The letter reads that the same facility was provided to the students who were appearing for the CA exam November 2020 cycle.
