Delay in the decision by top colleges creates confusion among students:
Students are in an utter state of confusion both for the evaluation criteria and for how various colleges will take admissions. Thus, uncertainty is a major threat challenging their future. Also, various colleges were waiting for the declaration of evaluation criteria by CBSE. But, now many top colleges ranked under NIRF are planning admission procedures.
Agenda of the top colleges:
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
The IITs are a dream of thousands of Indian as well as foreign students. Thus, the IITs will stick to their usual routine of conducting the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The top 2.5 lakh ranked JEE Mains students will only sit for the advanced and make their way to the IITs. So, for 2021, the dates of JEE exams are expected to be announced by June end.
Banaras Hindu University
BHU accepts the scores of JEE Mains and advanced for BTech and BPharma admissions respectively. For the other undergraduate courses including BA, BCom, and BSc courses, the varsity holds an entrance exam. Thus, the Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test (BHU UET) will be conducted this year as well after the announcement of the commencement date.
Jawaharlal Nehru University
The varsity always organizes an entrance exam for all aspirants. Thus, the Vice-Chancellor has assured that the procedure of conducting exams will continue this year also. Hence, they will take the exams when the situation becomes a bit favorable.
The registration process for undergraduate courses will kick start from July 15. Thus, the varsity will take admissions following the class 12th scores given by CBSE. However, due to the delay in results declaration and the lessened number of covid cases, they might seek a new mode.
