The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that NEET would be conducted twice a year. But now, it is confirmed that the entrance exams would take place between June and July in pen and paper mode. Moreover, the exam PATTERN of the same would have no changes.
The secretary of Higher Education Amit Khare said that the authority would not make any changes in the exam pattern on short notice because it would put an effect on the students appearing for it. On the other hand, delay in the conduction of the NEET exam is also not valid.
JEE TAKES PLACE MULTIPLE TIMES IN A YEAR
The Education Minister said that the National Testing Agency and other officials discussed conducting the entrance exam twice a year. The authorities conducted JEE exam more than once a year. Seeing the improved results of students, the authorities demand the same for NEET also.
NEET SHOULD BE COMPUTER-BASED
Khare said that the concerned authorities must conduct the entrance more than once a year. At times, students could not make up to appear for the exam and that ruins their hard work for the whole year. If NEET would be multiple times they could prepare for another attempt. But, the entrance exam cannot take place in pen and paper mode more than once. It should be computer-based only.
STAKEHOLDERS SHOULD DISCUSS ABOUT DISCUSSING NEET MULTIPLE TIMES
But, to conduct the entrance exam more than once a year, all the stakeholders must put their concerns ahead. There is a lot of difference between JEE and NEET. JEE is not a compulsion for all engineering colleges. On the other hand, NEET is compulsory to get admission into medical colleges.
ESTIMATED ADMISSIONS FOR NEET
