DU Miranda House praised 75 women across different domains and generations as part of its Platinum Jubilee Year celebrations that will contain a series of cultural and academic programs.

The celebrations began on Friday and saw the first set of alumnae being felicitated. They greeted the first Indian woman cricketer Meena Khanna from the 1955 batch. An educationist as well as writer Kavita Khare from the 1980 batch. Child rights activist as well as author Enakshi Ganguly from the 1982 batch. Social worker Sharmila Bhagat from the 1985 batch as well as DU joint registrar Meenakshi Sahay from the 1994 batch.

Bijayalaxmi Nanda, principal of DU Miranda House, said the college will applaud 75 women from across ages and decades as a part of its celebrations. Every month five such females will be congratulated and the programs will be kept throughout the year.

Talking about a new study wing that the college will inaugurate. Nanda said under the new UG curriculum study is a crucial segment presently, for UG students. Professor Rajni Abbi was the senior visitor of the day who conveyed her incidents of being a student at Miranda House. The Guest of Honor, Dr Uma Kapila, former faculty in the Department of Economics spoke about the spirit of stability that she comprehended from the college.

Aditi Anand is a prominent film producer and alumnus of the institute. She described the democratic and enabling space of the college. Which infused in her the belief of being her person. Footing into the 75th year, the college announced the building of memorabilia.
