DU is likely to hold students union elections, a long-standing request of students’ groups after a three-year interval this September. Students’ union elections for the student held in the year 2019. Because of Covid-19 the probable troubles with the academic calendar prevented their conduct in the year 2022.

Students’ groups have made indications to varsity officials to direct the resumption of the election exercise. As numerous elected representatives have resigned from the university after finishing their studies.

The elections could not hold the prior year as the admission for UG and PG programs began tardily and then there were examinations. Dahiya said the ABVP had made representations to the university officials and also held a march to instruct elections.

We requested that the academic calendar had carried on track so that elections could be kept. The university officials have given us confirmation.

The ABVP is encouraging and sure that their presence and involvement in the admission cycle and other occasions would benefit them to win this year’s elections as well.

The AISA has produced strides in varsity politics in the past few years. Being at the vanguard of several rally movements.

While applauding the varsity’s steps to execute elections. AISA’s Delhi unit president Abhigyan said that he wished the university would labor on trimming undemocratic actions during the procedure.
