DU hires for non-teaching posts

Delhi University has begun applications for the posts of librarian, non-teaching, and other posts. An application fee of Rs.500 has to be paid for the same by candidates in the unreserved, OBC, and EWS categories. The application fee is waived for SC/ST and PwBD candidates. The selection criterion involves the candidate’s performance in a practical or written test.

DU Recruitment 2024: Educational Requirements

A) Librarian

  1. Possessing a Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science, or a similar professional qualification, with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade if using a point scale).
  2. Demonstrated academic excellence with proficiency in library computerization.
  3. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates must have successfully cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET.

B) Director of Physical Education

  1. Having a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports, Physical Education, or Sports Science, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade if using a point scale).
  2. Track record of representing the university or college in inter-university or intercollegiate competitions, as well as at state and/or national championships.
  3. Alongside the aforementioned qualifications, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET.
  4. Preference will be given to candidates who have won medals at the Asian Games or Commonwealth Games and hold a post-graduate degree or higher.

C) Senior Personal Assistant

  1. Completion of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a private secretary, personal assistant, stenographer, executive assistant, or executive secretary in government departments, universities, autonomous bodies, PSUs, or government-recognized educational institutions.
  3. Skill-test requirements:

a) Dictation: 10 minutes with an average speed of 100 words per minute.

b) Transcription: 40 minutes for English or 55 minutes for Hindi on a computer.

c) Proficiency in computer skills, including typing, word processing, spreadsheet usage, internet, and email communication.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Degree or diploma in computer application or science.
  2. Diploma in office management and secretarial practice.
  3. Understanding the regulations relevant to central government organizations.

D) Junior Assistant

  1. Possession of a senior secondary school certificate (10+2) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized board, university, or institution.
  2. Typing proficiency of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi is conducted through computers.

E) Laboratory Attendant (Botany, Chemistry, Electronics, Physics, Zoology Lab)

  1. Must have completed 10th grade or an equivalent examination with science subjects from a recognized board.

F) Library Attendant

  1. Should have passed the 10th grade or equivalent examination from any state education board or government-recognized institution.
  2. Possession of a certificate in library science or library and information science from a recognized institution.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in computers, either with a secondary-level course or a basic computer course from any institution.
