Delhi University (DU) may have opened but there has been a ruckus at the spot. The teachers of six Delhi University colleges have refused to come and attend the college. Teachers say that there are two to four problems in the college due to problems like sanitization and cleanliness.
Physical distance is also not being followed. Therefore, they will take online classes of students from home. At the same time, many colleges have said that the signatures of teachers on the register should be considered as proof of attendance. The Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) has asked teachers not to sign.
COVID-19 PROTOCOL NOT FOLLOWED
Teachers’ organizations of other colleges including Rajamas College, Dayal Singh College, Zakir Hussain College, Aurobindo College held online meetings. In which, it was decided that unless facilities are provided in the college, teachers will teach from home. Teachers said that classes have been closed for ten months. Dust is frozen in the rooms. How many teachers will take online classes together in the staff room? Physical distance is also not able to be followed. In many colleges, even sanitization has not taken place. With the problem of the internet, almost all colleges are getting two or four.
DIFFICULT TO REACH COLLEGES FROM BORDER AREA
The teachers of various DU colleges live in NCR including Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida. Due to farmer protests, they are facing difficulties in reaching the college. Prof. Prakash Patel of Political Science at Dayal Singh College said that he lives in Vaishali, Ghaziabad. The route has been closed for the last two months due to farmer protests. It takes more than four hours to reach the college.

TEACHERS GAVE SUGGESTIONS
a) A permanent solution to the Internet problem should be found.
b) The Covid-19 protocol should be followed.
c) Teachers above 50 years of age should be given the Corona vaccine first.
d) Teachers are allowed to teach from home until the students come to college.
NOT TO SIGN
Duta president Rajib Ray has said that many colleges are getting teachers to sign the register. The teacher is taking online classes of students, this is the biggest proof of his presence. So until the situation is clear on the DU notice. No teacher should sign the register.
