The first corridor train of the country’s first rapid rail transit system project will also be made in India.

New Delhi. Delhi Rapid Metro Rail: Before the country’s first rapid rail transit system project, trains in the corridor will also be made in India. The train running on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut track will be built in Gujarat. On Tuesday, the NCR Transport Corporation also awarded the tender. The delivery of train coaches will begin in 2022. While construction work is already underway on the 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor for a distance of 17 km, the pillar construction work between Duhai to Sahibabad is also gaining momentum. Rapid rail is to be operational from March 2023 on this trek from Sahibabad to Duhai. In 2025 the train will start running on this entire track.

NCRTC has tendered to make train sets of rapid rail multinational company Bombardier Transportation India Pvt. Has been awarded. The company will manufacture the train sets of rapid rail at its plant in Savli, Gujarat. A total of 40 train sets are to be built. 30 train sets with six coaches will be used for rapid rail services, while 10 train sets with three coaches will be used for Meerut Metro.

Construction of Ghaziabad station started on Meerut Tirahe

The construction work of Ghaziabad station of Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Rail Corridor started on Friday. A pillar was also constructed between Guldhar and Duhai. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation team has started work as soon as it is approved. NCRTC officials said that construction work is being done in the shifts following the standard operating procedure (SOP). So that the project can be completed on time.

Durgashankar Mishra (Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development) says that it is a matter of pride to ensure the operation of the Made in India train set under the Rapid Rail Project in the global tender process. RRTS is the first such project in the country, this is also happening for the first time when the entire train will be ready in India under such a project.

Two pillars of 15 m height will be made

An official said that the rapid rail will pass through the left side of the Ganga River in Muradnagar. The width of the Ganga River is around 70 meters. Therefore two pillars of 15 m height will be made in it. He told that the height of the pillar will be kept about 11 meters from the road level.

Ganga River may be closed

Pillar work will be started soon after the road widening. In such a situation, the NCRTC is also contacting the top officials of the irrigation department to get Ganga River water backward. Since water supply is also done from the Ganga River to Delhi. In such a situation, the irrigation department is not currently in the mood to shut down the water. The Ganga river water flow will be diverted instead of turning the water back off.
