The Joint Entrance Test (JEE) Main 2021 aspirants are told to submit their reserved category certificates along with the application forms. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has asked the engineering aspirants to submit these certificates at the time of registration. The FAQs section written by the exam authorities confirmed it. The frequently asked questions regarding the going JEE Main 2021 exam can be accessed from the official website namely jeemain.nta.nic.in.
These FAQs were put up on the website on 25th December 2020. It submitted category certificates mandatory to complete the application process.
This is one of the many rules introduced by the National Testing Agency for JEE Main 2021. Like the students can make four examination attempts in a year, select the best out of all the attempts, changes in fee procedure, etc.

The first exam is scheduled from February 23 to 26. The other attempts are speculated to take place in March, April, or May.
The candidates used to opt for a category without any documentary proof. Later in the counseling stage, the documents were called for. This used to give students extra time to arrange for the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificate.
But this year the terms changed and document proof is made a mandatory requirement. The JEE Main 2021 application process will be considered incomplete without any documentary proof for the category.

However, the pandemic has made it difficult for the aspirants to arrange the category certificates. This requirement thus posed a significant problem for the candidates of JEE Main 2021. Thus, they are facing a problem in the application process. In such a case, the candidates are given the option of self-declaration. They need to submit an undertaking form to self-declare the status of their category. Accordingly, they can complete the application process.
But they need to upload their reserved category certificates by May 2021.
