The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a series of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main 2021). JEE Main 2021 is scheduled to be conducted in four sessions. The first session of JEE Main 2021 will be conducted from 23rd February to 26th February.

Most of the queries answered by National Testing Agency (NTA) were related to the newly introduced format of JEE Main 2021. Other topics covered under the queries are related to number of attempts, multiple sessions, etc.

When will the application window for JEE Main 2021 will be made available?

As per the notification released by the NTA, the application window to apply for JEE Main 2021 will be made available by January 2021. Students will be allowed to make the fee payment till 17th January 2021. Furthermore the application window for JEE Main will be reopened for a brief period for about 3-4 days after the results for each session are released.

Can the fees for all the four session be deposited at once? Will the fees be refunded if the candidate does not appear for the next session?

As per the FAQs released by NTA, the fees for all four sessions of exam can be paid all together or in installments. The National Testing Agency has further stated that in case a student does not want to appear for any of the session or wish to withdraw the form, they will receive a refund for the same from NTA.

Which JEE Main 2021 score will be considered in compilation of JEE result and preparation of ranking or merit list?

While a student can appear in multiple sessions, the students’ best one score out of all four JEE sessions in which he / she appears will be considered for preparation of ranking/merit list.

Is the syllabus for JEE (Mains) 2021 changed?

National Testing Agency has notified that the syllabus for JEE exam is same as that of the last year’s. However, National Testing Agency has revealed that there will be a total of 90 questions in the question paper. Out of the 90 questions, candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only. Moreover, there will be no negative marking in the entrance test for 15 optional questions.

As per the reports, students can fill the JEE 2021 application form latest by 15th January, 2021. The last date for making the payment is 16th January 2021. The JEE exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be held between 9 AM to 12 PM and the second shift will be conducted between 3 PM to 6 PM. The admit cards for the examination will be released by the first week of February.
